Note from Coach Hanel
Now that everyone has received their basketball,  I wanted to let you all know that each one described what I felt was your best attribute to the team:

Munya Kuvaoga-rebounding

Alex Matzke-ball control, less than 1 turnover per game

Jacob Olmanson-hustle, you set the pace for us

Jayme Kranz-defense, you stepped up defensively throughout the years and we relied on you to defend the best player

Jaxon Libby-scoring, when we needed points you found a way to get them

It was fun coaching and taking this journey with you boys over the last several years.

God’s blessings as you all move into the next phase of your life.

Coach Jay

7-8 Girls Note from Coach Olmanson
To say it was an average girls 7/8th basketball season this year would be a huge mistake.  With a win right off the bat in Janesville the girls headed into their first of 5 tournaments. The girls lost 2 games in the New Ulm tournament, one to New Ulm and one to Mt.Olive. A quick game in Courtland produced a win. We headed down to the Truman tournament where the girls won the first game by 2 points! They ended up winning the next 2 games to take 1st place. Next game up was the Trinity tournament. With two confident wins to put them in the championship game they were ready for Genesis. The girls beat Genesis (36-24) for a 1st place win. The girls then played Mt.Olive and beat them by a score of 31-28. A game in Courtland for another win then right back to Courtland for their tournament. With a bye right away the girls waited to see their first opponent.  A win against Gaylord put the team back in another championship game! Fairmont/Northrop/Truman was the next in line to fall to the mighty Trojans (40-28) giving us another championship 1st place win. Wrapping up the season against Loyola, defeating them 36-24.

The 7/8th grade girls basketball team finished the season with a very impressive record of 14-2.

They also participated in an end of the year JV ( 7th grade thru 9th grade) tournament in St. Francis MN. Taking care of the first game against Alexandria Community Christian School by a score of 23-4. This win set them up for a championship game against St.Cloud Christian School. With a very tough game the girls JV team wins in a 18-17 nail-biter. This would make it the fourth tournament win that the girls achieved.

So, if you have time to congratulate one or all of them on their 2023/2024 basketball season please do.

Coach Charles Olmanson.
