Pre-Service Prayer:

Lord, Thee I love with all my heart; I pray Thee, ne'er from me depart,

With tender mercy cheer me. Earth has no pleasure I would share,

Yea, heav'n itself were void and bare if Thou, Lord, were not near me.

And should my heart for sorrow break, my trust in Thee no one could shake.

Thou art the Portion I have sought; Thy precious blood my soul has bought.

Lord Jesus Christ, my God and Lord, my God and Lord,

Forsake me not!  I trust Thy Word. Amen.

Pre-Service Devotion:

Psalm 30

First Reading:

Exodus 2:1-10

Moses’ parents bravely defied the order of Pharaoh and hid him for three months. Then they entrusted their infant to God’s mercy and floated him on the Nile River. God had everything in control and provided a blessed outcome. How could the parents be so courageous? They trusted the LORD their God and followed His Word and will by faith.

Second Reading:

John 6:66-69

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (cf. Romans 10:17). Peter and the other disciples heard God’s Word from Jesus and that Word brought them to the firm conviction (faith) that Jesus was the Son of God, their Savior.
