The school handbell choirs prepare music for 3 annual concerts, as well as church services. Students involved in the program learn about many facets of music as they study and perform selections that range from simple folk songs to complex compositions.  Lane Fischer directs the handbell choirs.

Fifth and Sixth Grade Choir

The Fifth and Sixth Grade Choir meets once a week.  Members give up a noon recess to attend the rehearsal.

Seventh and Eighth Grade Choir

The Seventh and Eighth Grade Choir meets one 42-minute class period per week.  Members give up a study hall period to attend the rehearsal.

High School Choir

As time allows, the High School Choir practices handbell selections.

Third and Fourth Grade Handchime Choir

The third and fourth grade class prepares 3 selections for the annual Winter Concert. Handchimes  are a great introduction to handbell choir.  The students practice during music class.

Instruments and Library

Immanuel Lutheran Church owns a 5-octave set (61 bells) of English handbells, as well as a 4-octave set (49 chimes) of handchimes.  The handbell music library has grown to include over 400 titles.  We are thankful to the congregation, the board of education, and to the parents who have fostered and supported this program since its beginning.
