Is your heart ready for Christmas?

This is the question for which God sent John the Baptizer. The fullness of time had come and God was ready to send the long promised and awaited Savior. But first, God would send a forerunner, one to prepare hearts, for the Savior.

When the angel Gabriel announced to Zacahrias that he would be the father of this forerunner, John, he said, “[John] will go before [Jesus] …to turn the hearts of…the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord” (Luke 1:17)

John preached the Law of God to show the people their sin and the just condemnation they deserved for their sin. He preached to prick their hearts into realizing their need for the Savior. Then, when Jesus came, John pointed to Him and said, “There! He is the one to heal your hurts, to forgive your sin, to give you life!”

Prepare your hearts to celebrate the coming of your Savior, Jesus!

Jesus Rules in an Everlasting Kingdom!

Who is Jesus? Where is He now? What is He doing? Many suggest that Jesus was a good man, who founded one of the world’s great religions. However, they also suggest that Jesus died long ago and so no longer lives. Such thinking is not true.

The angel Gabriel answered all three of our questions when he informed the Virgin Mary that she would become Jesus’ mother. He told her concerning Jesus: “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end” (Luke 1:31-33). Who is Jesus? He is “the Son of the Highest”—God Himself! Where is He now? What is He doing? He is ruling over an eternal kingdom affecting the hearts and lives of million of people throughout our world.
