“A Word of Truth” from Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mankato…

The Gospel is for All People

A Word of Truth #036

When you want to drive the family car at age 8, you have to wait. You have to be 18 years old to vote. Everywhere you turn there are restrictions and limitations for reasons of safety and capability.

There are no limitations or restrictions on the Gospel message of Jesus Christ! The only criterion to be among those for whom the Gospel is intended is that you be a sinner, and we ALL fit that qualification. God says, “There is none righteous, no, not one…there is none who does good, no, not one” (Romans 3:10,12).

The Gospel announces to sinners of every place and every age that Jesus died for their sins. Jesus died on the cross to “take away the sins of the world (John 1:29) for “God so loved the world that He gave Jesus to be the world’s Savior (John 3:16).

If you are a sinner (and you are) you qualify for needing a Savior. If you are part of the world (and you are) Jesus died for you to take away your sins. The Gospel message is for you!

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love in Christ!

A Word of Truth #037

Heart attacks, cancer, automobile accidents, natural disasters—these things happen in our world to Christians and non-Christians alike. When such things happen to Christians, is it because God is angry with them, has forsaken them, or no longer loves them? The Bible says, “No!”

God by grace declares all, who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior, to be His children. He then watches over them, promising to prevent evil from entering their lives or working such evil out for their good. Christians can confidently confess with St. Paul: “I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
