A Word of Truth #009
Heaven and hell…do they exist? The Bible says, “Yes!”. It describes hell as a place of fire and torment. It says that all who reject Jesus will suffer there forever. It says we all deserve to go to hell because of our sins.
But the Bible also reveals God’s plan to deliver us from hell through Jesus. It says that all who trust Jesus as their Savior will go to heaven. We do not know exactly what heaven will be like, but the Bible says that it will be more wonderful than anything we can imagine. We will see God face to face. Our bodies will be glorified. There will be no more sin, sorrow, pain, or death.
God wants everyone to go to heaven. The Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). Listen to the Bible. In it God tells you how to get to heaven!

What is it that worries you the most? Terrorists? Global warming? The unknowns of life?
Whatever our individual fears and worries may be, we can cast them all aside. Our Savior once fed over 5,000 people with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Surely, He has the ability to provide for our needs. God closed the mouths of hungry lions to spare Daniel’s life. Surely, He can protect us.
Even greater than this, is the eternal salvation which God accomplished when Jesus died for our sins on the cross. God’s promise of eternal life through Christ Jesus means that worry is unnecessary. Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow…” (Matthew 6:33-34).
There are problems aplenty in this sinful world, but Jesus says, “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).
