To Every Action There Is a Reaction
O Lord, my Creator, Redeemer, and Comforter, as I come to worship You in spirit and in truth, I humbly pray that You would open my heart to the preaching of Your Word so that I may repent of my sins, believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior from sin, and grow in grace and holiness. Having thus been filled with Your Spirit, move me to show forth Your glory in how I act, react, and interact with others. Amen.
Hannah fervently prayed for a child while in the temple. She was praying silently but her lips moved. Eli, the priest, wrongfully jumped to the conclusion that Hannah was drunk. Eli broke the 8th commandment by assuming the worst of Hannah rather than taking her actions in the best possible way.
Christian liberty is the freedom to do or not do, to eat or not eat certain things. Freedom is never a license to sin, but in areas where neither doing nor abstaining from doing is a sin, there is liberty. The Apostle Paul provides counsel for our exercise of Christian liberty. Freedom, yes, but always with the well-being of souls in mind.
