Keep Giving Thanks
I love the house where You live, O LORD, the place where Your glory dwells (Psalm 26:8). In mercy, prepare my heart so that as I enter Your house I may come to worship and confess Your holy name. Open my heart to Your Word so that I may repent of my sins, believe in Jesus as my only Savior, grow in grace, and abound in thanksgiving. Amen.
Knowing that God is directing all things enables us to give thanks even in times of hardship and chastisement. When hardship passes and abundance returns, remember to also give thanks.
Life is more than just the abundance of what we possess. Therefore, thanksgiving to God can still abound even when possessions do not.
