Pastor Wayne C Eichstadt
Hymns: 339, 764, 575, 341(1,3)
Pre-Service Prayer:

Blessed Lord, You caused all of Holy Scriptures to be written for my learning. Grant that I may read and hear them in such a way that I learn from them, mark and keep them in my heart, diligently apply them in the day-to-day circumstances of my life, and inwardly mediate upon them and digest Your truth. Give me the comfort and encouragement of Your Word so that I may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life which You have given to me through my Savior, Jesus. Amen.

Pre-Service Devotion:

Psalm 2

First Reading:

Psalm 2

The peoples and rulers of the earth may plot against God and against Jesus. Such plans thought by sinners to be successful for their own selfish pursuits are in reality the laughing-stock of Heaven. Jesus has all power in heaven and on earth, and He wields it for His purpose and the work of His Kingdom.

Second Reading:

Romans 13:1-7

Earthly governments are ordained by God and established in power by God’s will. These governments have a God-appointed role to fill. Their jurisdiction is in earthly matters, but even they serve the greater goal of God’s purposes for His heavenly kingdom.
