Pre-Service Prayer:

Dear heavenly Father, each day presents me with decisions and choices I must make. Some are clear and simple, and some are dark and difficult. Preserve me from self-reliance so that even with “easy” decisions I don’t forget to use Your Word as my guide. Give me wisdom. Bless me with a growing maturity in the faithful use of the wisdom you provide. Pour out Your Holy Spirit’s blessing on my time spent with Your Word today. Hear and accept my praises, for You are my wise, great, and glorious God! Amen!

Pre-Service Devotion:

Psalm 119:105-112

First Reading:

Joshua 24:13-24

The children of Israel had a fundamental question to answer: Which God would they serve? The answer to this question would shape every other decision they would make in their lives.

Second Reading:

Romans 4:18-25

Abraham’s faith brought him the forgiveness of sins, just as we receive forgiveness through faith in Jesus. Abraham’s faith concerning God’s promised salvation also gave him confidence in the matters of this life. For example, contrary to every bit of rational human thought, Abraham knew he would become a father because God said he would.
