Pre-Service Prayer:

Lord our God, we pray that You will come to us with Your Spirit filling us with grateful love. We know that You have never forgotten us though we have often failed to remember Your mercy and loving kindness. Forgive us for the sake of Jesus our Savior and fill our hearts with Your Spirit that You will always be in our heart and mind moving us to make good decisions, guiding us in our actions, and generally walking with us through this world of sin that Your name may be glorified in us. In our Savior we pray. Amen.

Pre-Service Devotion:

Psalm 25

First Reading:

1 Peter 1:3-9

A spiritual reality check needs to be made by us regularly in this world of sin. Satan and the world around us are constantly attempting to lead us to unreal and ungodly expectations for life. Our Epistle reading helps remind us where we are and who we are by faith in Christ Jesus, and what life is really all about!

Second Reading:

Matthew 6:19-34

The worship of the world and the things in it is everywhere around us. In fact, it lies in our own sinful flesh. Yet, as God’s dear people in Christ, we have eyes to see things as they really are by the power of the Spirit. So let’s not forget to remember how things really are as the Spirit guides and teaches us through our Lord’s Word.
