Elementary Chorus is an extracurricular choral group for students in grades 4-8. We are currently using a three session format. Students may attend any one, two, or all three sessions. During the Fall and Spring sessions students sing for church twice, perform for a concert, and sing for senior citizens. During the shorter winter session students sing for church twice and perform for a concert. Other opportunities may occur. Concert dates determine the session lengths.
The main purpose of chorus is to praise the Lord with song, whether the songs are sacred or secular. In the process we will also work on good singing habits and ways to present various songs.
Participants will need black slacks or skirts and white tops for concerts. They may wear regular church attire for services. Usually chorus sings from the balcony. Students are asked to sit in the balcony with the group until after they sing. Then they may join their families if desired.
All participants receive certificates. Students in their second through fifth year of participation receive medals for full year participation or ribbons for participating in one or two sessions. All awards are given at the last concert. The end of the year party is for all who participated during the school year.
Chorus meets on Thursdays from 2:50PM to 3:30PM. Students join by attending the first practice or contacting Mrs. Karla Olmanson before the first practice.
*Any changes, to the singing schedule, will be announced at chorus and in the Weekly Update. Chorus members rehearse briefly 15 minutes before each service in the 5th and 6th grade room. Rehearsal times before concerts will be announced later.

May 21, Monday — Spring Concert and awards, 7:00pm
May 24, Thursday — Sing for Senior Citizens during chorus time.
May 31, Thursday — No chorus
ALL PARTICIPANTS — End of year party, Thursday May 24, following singing for senior citizens until 5:15 PM
