Ackermann 25th Anniversary
On Sunday, June 22, 1947 we observed the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Rev. A. Ackermann's installation as pastor of our congregation. All arrangements had been made in such a way that the festivities were a complete surprise to the Rev. and Mrs. Ackermann.
In the German service, the Rev. Paul E. Horn of Zumbrota, first vice president of the Minnesota District, preached the sermon using as his text Psalm 71, verses 16 to 18. In the service the Concordia Choir sang the selection, "Haare Meine Seele, Haare Des Herrn."

In the English service at 11 o'clock, the Rev. Arthur Koehler of Hutchinson, second vice president of the Minnesota District, preached the sermon, using as his text, Isaiah 52, verse 7. In this service the Lutheran Choral Society sang the selection, "The Lord Is My Shepherd." Pastor Peterson served as liturgist in both services.
At noon the officers and members of the Church Council honored Pastor and Mrs. Ackermann with a special dinner to which various friends and relatives had been invited.
During the latter part of the afternoon an informal program was held in the Sunday school auditorium which was attended by a large group of members of the congregation and friends. In expressing the gratitude of Mrs. Ackermann and himself, Pastor Ackermann wrote:
"We recognize that the loyalty, the whole-hearted support and the ardor of promoting the Lord's cause on the part of individual members and of the various organizations have been a stimulating encouragement for these many years. May God bless you all!"
