DAVID ~ A Man After God’s Own Heart

2 Samuel 5-8,12,22-23; 1 Kings 1-2; et.al.

[Samuel to Saul]: "But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you. "(1 Samuel 13:14)

"And when [God] had removed [Saul], He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do My will.’ From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior – Jesus..." (Acts 13:22)

God calls David a "man after His own heart." God was speaking of David in contrast to King Saul. What was the difference? What made David a man after God’s own heart? What is our heart’s condition? What can our hearts learn/gain from God’s description of David? …These are some of the things we plan to explore today:

"Positives" in David’s life that show "a man after God’s own heart"
